Local councils team up to achieve one goal – recruit the next generation of foster carers.

To coincide with the FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament, Foster for Bradford is teaming up with local authorities and Children’s Trusts from across England with the aim of achieving one goal – to recruit a new generation of foster carers.

24 local council fostering teams have reformed Local Councils United – a virtual league with each team showcasing their football inspired films to cheer on the benefits of fostering for your local council.

Recruiting the next generation of foster carers

As the nation follows with pride our England Lionesses, local councils and Trusts take pride in their carers and the children & young people they inspire, encourage and coach to be the best that they can be.

Football players, carers, young people and staff are all featured in the film clips which will play out each day on social media during the World Cup campaign with the hashtags #FosterGreatness #FosterWithYourCouncil

“We are extremely proud of our fostering community in the Bradford district, involving over 500 foster families who each play an important role in supporting the children and young people they foster to achieve their goals.
"We also understand the challenges which come with this important role, and fully support our carers at every stage of the process, through assessment, training and supervision. Our foster carers are our greatest support network, and we want more people like them, to step up and do something great."
Linzi Nicholson, Registered Manager of Foster for Bradford
